There is a areal hot hanging scene in the fourth season of HELL ON WHEELS. One guy gets killed with hot cowboy boots on. One Mecican gets offed with a leather jacket. and they guy that gets hung has tall cowboy boots , empty Holster, and long blond hair. His struggle while trying to cut the rope is hot. Slowly his arms drop to his side. and he swings. I would post it here abut I don't have the software to capture frames.

Thank you, deaddirty, for answering my question! I certainly understand the problems you've pointed out concerning available data (lies, damn lies and statistics). Nonetheless, I am enlightened by your observation that guns, poison and hanging each seem to be more or less equally responsible for suicides around the globe.

Yes, problems with the data as well as the actual availability of the requisites. For instance while doing that google I discovered that suicide by volcano is (or once was) quite popular in Japan - but it has never taken off in the UK due presumably to the non-availability of volcanoes.
The basic methodology incidentally is quite simple - find active volcano, jump in. The alternative methodology of getting off a volcanic eruption at a time and place convenient for one's demise, while much more pro-active has not yet been perfected - which may be a good thing.
But I am going of-topic - this is the hanging thread!

Yes, he's looking so peacefully, as he'd really enjoying his last minutes. If I was condemned to hang until dead, I would also love to have such a facial expression. Or if my friends were condemned and I had to watch them getting hanged...
