Here's a complete set of the handsome, shaved guy being hanged: notice how he drools, kicks and looks around him, fully conscious, during his execution.

 
such a handsome guy.I would love to take care of him and prepare him for his funeral.
 
I think the recent Iran hanging is the most excellent set of execution pictures ever published. It depicts execution procedure exactly as I imagine. The condemend guy, apparently horrified, is brought to the gallows already handcuffed with his legs shackled. The steel chains and handcuffs contrast with his bare wrists. He is wearing baggy clothes, probably with a diaper, and is barely barefoot except of thin socks and flip-flops. The surrounding guards and officials are masked and impersonal. He is put on the truck platform, given no hood and may watch all long-lasting preparations: pulling the rope through the crane hook and adjusting the noose. The rope itself is very thick and noose consists of several coils. When suspension hanging is applied, such kind of noose will not constrict vertebral arteries and allow blood flow to the brain for a longer period. Additionally, the knot is placed not behind the left ear, but in occipital area which prolongs awareness. Noose is placed above the level of thyroid cartilage, between the larynx and the chin. I am sure, that the condemned was conscious for a longer time - maybe for 30 seconds or even more. Surely he was feeling unimaginable pain and subjective sensations, such as flashes of light and ringing or hissing noises in the ears. The pictures show really strong convulsions, kicking, losing flip-flops. You may see deep bruising on his wrists when the body is lowered to the ground. Another interesting finding is a drool of saliva dribbling from the angle of mouth when his head is bent forward. This is a result of increased salivation before death due to the stimulation of the salivary glands by the ligature. There is also some mucus fluid flowing dwon from his nostrills. When he is hanging, the hands are clenched, later relaxed. The face is grey-pale, eyelids almost closed. Some pictures are really amazing: close-up of his shackled, kicking feet with socks on, removal of steel chains and cuffs from the hanging body, certification of death by auscultation (excellent abdominal hairy sixpack visible), light reflex on pupils, lowering the body directly from the crane to the body bag on the ground. I am sure thi execution was performed perfectly.
 
I agree with limone, it is a very professionally hanging and well managed, the guy is conscious and resigned, is also a very good capital execution because the guy did not die right away and can realize its execution

They definitely hang them with diapers and other restraining clothing beneath their trousers to prevent any faeces, urine or cum being visible to the crowd. There are several pictures of Iran hangings where, when the body is taken down, you can see two or three layers of clothing beneath their trousers. One hanging a few years ago, the guy had defecated... you could see the mess all down his bare legs, but not on his trousers, thanks to the extra layers. But there is one shot of a rapist hanged this summer where you can see towards the end of his hanging that he has an erection. In none of the other pictures is there any bulge, but in just one there is a very noticeable pointed bulge and a damp patch. Must have had a huge hardon for it to be visible.

ps I think he must have been conscious for a lot more than 30 seconds, Limone. He is drooling a hell of a lot in one of the pictures where he is looking around him, obviously still conscious (you can tell he is conscious by the look of his eyes). For him to be drooling that much – there's a stream of it coming from his mouth – he must have been hanging for a minute or two, not just a few seconds. I don't see how he could have built up that much saliva in just a few seconds. Unless he's throwing up.
 
Certainly, he was hanging very long. Losing conscioussnes could occur after 30 sec. - 1 minute, then period of convulsions 2-3 minutes, decerebrate rigidity (after ca. 5 min), sphincters relax, heart stop 10-15 min. Drooling of saliva is involntary and happens during all steps, also when the executee is uncoscius. Afterwards, customary hanging of dead body for some time is required. Anyway, it is clear that in this case all sequences were extremaly prolonged. The procedure was a public spectacle and viewers were not disappointed.
 
One more, he had erection for sure. The question is if he coud feel any muscles contrictions typical for orgasm. In most of guys who died due to a hanging, an engorgement of penis with semen at the tip and in underwear is found frequently, however erection itself may result from accumulation of blood in the hanging body.

When the body was lowered to the ground, the rope was cut and the noose remained on the neck. It means, that the body was taken to the morgue with the noose on. Handcuffs and leg shackles had been removed previously - as valuable restraints to be used again. We can see wrist bruising, probably similar trace is on the ankles.

Having your underwear caught in the noose isnt my idea of a perfect hanging, but aside from that, the snot is usually a result of the sinuses draining due to pressure created when the carotid arteries are slightly less occluded than the Jugular vein (return path).
I didnt notice any indication of priapism or any sort of erection.

According to forensic meicine, increased salivation results from stimulation of pterygopalatine ganglion by the ligature. The same concernc nose discharge.
T-shirt trapped between the noose and neck is obvious carelessness of the hangman. However it is only a minor fault.
 
about the last public execution in Iran, from a website:
"One man was hanged publicly in the town of Gharchak (Qarchak; Tehran province) early this morning.
According to the state run Iranian news agency Fars, a 29 years old man identified as Bakhshali Asgari was hanged convicted of murdering a 9 year-old girl and her grandmother, sexual abuse of the girl and stealing the woman’s jewelry in 2009.
The man was hanged publicly at 06:16 AM in front of tens of people. He had also been sentenced to 74 lashes and the sentenced was implemented in the prison yesterday.

In severalpics, when y.ou brighten them up the rear of his trousers looks damp, as if he's shat himself massively and it's leaking through the diaper (or whatever layeras he's wearing). But none where I'm sure it really is a damp stain, not just shadow!
