Lots of great photos. Its interesting how many of those hanging were probably accidental. Many of those "victims" had their feet on the ground.

Plenty of genuine suicides do it that way, either because it's easier, or because (perhaps) it's less painful if the nose isn';t takinmg the full bodyweight. If you bend your knees or fall forwards enough to tighten the noose, hanging and the ineitable consequences will ensue. Think of both the Swedish and the Japanese real suicide vids - both guys did it that way, and clearly they were not 'accidents'.

Specially for deaddirty.... if you look closely at these two pix you can see the guy is pissing himself. In the close up of his feet, you can see a thin streak of piss running down his foot and dribbling from his foot as the people in the background watch him wetting himself as he's executed.

....In Iran they hang them with two or three layers of trousers on to hide all the mess. When that young guy was hanged a few months ago, there was one picture of him after he was cut down which showed underpants, shorts, tight long johns/thermals and then track suit trousers over that. Three or four layers of clothes over their legs to hide all the bodily fluids and hard-ons.
