Hanging Collection [Part 1]

This altered frame comes from a short video called the Tree. It is a variation on Ambrose Bierce's Occurance at Owl Creek Bridge. Mainly, the condemned imagines that he has escaped, heads home and kisses his true love. Then, the noose snaps his neck and his body hangs lifeless. I did soil his trousers and gave him (a la Guiteau) a nicely shined pair of shoes. Maybe there is some truth in the life saga. We are born through love and as we are dying, we long for love.the-tree.jpg

bridge hangers - re-exposed

I sometimes set aside pics posted by our members with a view to playing around with them in CS5 to see if I can lift more details out. This is done for my own interest - and also gives me some practice using CS5's powerful tool set. Here is a set of guys hanging form a bridge in Iran - the second pic of each set is the unaltered version - the first pics of each set shows the result of the 'darkroom' work.

There are always gains and losses when you do this - so its a balance as to how much to do. Here are the pics for our members to see - you can decide for yourself if the adjustments were worth doing or not - posted for interest of CDG members.

When I saw the original, I was moved by the pathos of the scene. I apologize for not noting the poster, I looked for it, but I can't find him. Does anyone know about this photo? I removed the bigger guy and duplicated the smaller one for a more drammatic effect. It appeared to be a mutual suicide and perhaps I am reading too much into it.samoubiystvo_Krivoy_Rog.jpg
