Vietnam Trophy pic - repair

Several months ago - our CDG member rickyd kindly supplied a damaged photo of 2 dead Vietnamese guys being 'displayed' - this pic had a lot of damage and wear & tear - and blotchy color damage. I told rickyd that when I had time I would play around with this and see if it could be 'repaired'. I have just had a week off work - and at last began to play with this.

You can see the results here - the original is the first one - I also included a greyscale and a tritone of the repaired image.

Interestingly - if you have a lot of colour damage, just the simple process of converting to greyscale can make a significant improvement.

Was it worth it???? A proper restore can take many hours - this was just a dabble - and there will be those who say "yes" and those who say "no". But here they are - you can have a look and judge for yourself.
