Why is it necessary to spoil the effect of his preparation for burial by stuffing his nose and mouth with cotton-wool? Surely anything that's going to come out would have come out by now!

I agree, finely stiched up young man should be example to other morgue techs.

Blood and brains can sometime drain through the nose during funerlal especially in corpses with trauma to the noggin. It's common practice in some countries while it's not used at all in others.

Cotton in nostrils is not used in Bulgaria except in extreme cases.
