Thanks Meatpie, excellent info! I knew there was discrimination in Europe, worse than in the U.S. because of long standing prejudices and suspicions that go back longer than the U.S. has been a country. I have to say though, that although blind hatred of anyone because they belong to a race or culture is not a civilized attitude in my opinion, it is VERY important to watch what immigrants DO in your country. It's important to watch your borders. In the U.S., you only hear the government give lip service to the idea of securing our borders but we all know they never will. The reason, is always the reason that our government does ANYTHING. Money and commerce. Protecting the interests of the corporations. Big business does not want regulated borders because the mexicans provide a cheap labor force which increases the profits businesses can make. National security for our citizens is ZERO on their list of priorities. The drug cartel is taking over our cities, gang members walk across into our country, thousands a week, crime is up, Americans have to pay for the housing, medical care, education that illegal aliens get FREE.
So we are almost the opposite from what your m8s in Europe are. The way you describe it, in europe (France), citizens are suspicious of immigrants to the point of hostility and violence. In the U.S., it's total apathy by our government. They could give a RATS ASS the security danger we have from open borders while we're at war. It's all about money and kissing the asses of their corporate bosses that motivate our politicians.
I heard that Turks are a problem in Germany, is that true? Kinda like the gypsies are to you. Why do you guys hate gypsies, what's the history there? In my neighborhood there aren't any blacks but they are a percentage of the population in our city like almost every other city in the U.S. I know for a fact, even though we never say it out loud unless talking about crime and race, from the perspective of white people, that black men are viewed with uneasiness and sometimes fear. This is because they are seen as being the main source of crime in our country - along with latinos. It's a gut feeling. When you see a young black male walking toward you at night on a city street, you get pretty nervous. That kind of attitude is wrong, but it's a reality and the perception that most young black low income men commit crime, is the reason.
