I went to a diner early this morning for breakfeast .. and it was extremely busy. It took sooo long to get the food and then when I got it ... it was STONE COLD.

Here I was starving, waited ALL that LONG and the food was COLD. It tasted miserable. So I told the waiter the food was cold and he took it back and another LONG, LONG wait for the food to be heated up and brought back.

I just got UP and walked out. Really lousy service.

Oh Arrow, I am sorry.

:very very sad:

In restaurants here this is not acceptable and you can ask for a full refund.

In my view you did the right thing - you are a paying customer and deserve proper service and respect.

Where is this restaurant?

Thanks for your thoughts about this, MeatPie.

The diner is a 24/7 place not too far from here over in another Chicagoland village. It usually has very good food and very plentiful servings. They are noted for having extremely tasty breakfeasts.

Today it was just awful. Yes, it was very busy but they always are. The waiter was "out of it" and I suspect it was all his fault. I think my food was ready and he was so ignorant he just allowed it to SIT
in the kitchen to become all cold.

I did not pay for anything, though, that is the good thing. I just left all the food on the table, including the orange juice, toast, sausage links, waffles and scrambled egg whites.

I should have asked for the manager and complained .. but I was just so disgusted and still HUNGRY I just got up and walked right on out.

I went to McDonald's instead and had their orange juice, pancakes with syrup and scrambled eggs. Actually, it was pretty good .. and they had it RIGHT there for me in about 3 minutes, PIPING HOT and all ready to eat. '- )
