This thread is very interesting - all these inciddents appear to have happened in or near water (i.e. marsh or bog). Nice collection missouri63. You aren't a fisherman are you????

How long after a bloated cadaver has been pulled from a pond can its water reasonably be expected to be free of corpse juice, and thus suitable for swimming and other recreational use? I don't think I could EVER bring myself to get back in a body of water again, if it had once been home to a decomposing human.

ROFL, Sunray. Way to connect the dots!

You bring up a good point, Alex. If someone were killed in my pool, I'd not go in it until the water was drained and the liner was replaced. Reminds me of the story last year when the weatherman in Arkansas woke up one morning next to a dead young man in the hot tub. What happened to the hottub? Was it resold? Was there a particular disclaimer on the sale tag???

A resevoir is even worse... that's drinking water.
