It can't be easy to hang to death while sitting on the ground. I imagine it takes a lot of will power not to stand up and save yourself. As for being old, the guy taking the photo wins the old contest. The hanged dude is definitely in excellent shape, whatever his age.

Maybe half way into it, he just got tired, and said "ahh, fuck-it, I'm just gonna sit down."

That said, he was pretty elderly. Definitely a C-DOG. (Cute Dead Old Guy)
