In a cycle crash, why do they have to slit the body open, like they did to this guy? Wouldn't it be obvious what he died of? I wonder if victims are sometimes given to students to use for autopsy practice.
Anyway, it might be, Alex, because they are trying to find out the cause of the crash, rather than the cause of the death. Or, perhaps (though less likely, the upstanding youngster was an organ donor. Or maybe there was just a ghoulish, horny medical examiner (not that there's anything wrong with that....).
