Yes - very hot pic - BUT I believe they are still alive - normally soldiers are labelled 'DEAD' during training exercises to clearly identify their status to other soldiers taking part in the exercise.

Jon is right Although exercises are often scored electronically now when killed a soldier is labelled dead by umpires and can then be used to practice clearing a body or for death registration , notification and field corpse preparstion burial procedures
