It was a very short message from a very small planet:
For much of his life, X had studied the two-legged inhabitants of that third planet. He knew they were just as fascinated to meet an extra-terrestrial like him as he was to know them. By reading their lips from such a great distance and deciphering their languages, he knew these beings responded well to concise messages, and packaging the message properly was equally important.
So, there it was, as simple as X could make it -- “I want to know you.” It was honest, to the point. X need only put it out there, and when the carbon units succeeded in decoding his communication, their curiosity and excitement would get the better of them.
These two-legged creatures would have no choice. They were as curious as cats.
They would come.
Ensign Dobbs saluted his captain. “Sir, we’ve deciphered that transmission.”
The Captain looked up from his desk. “What is it? Tell me.”
“It’s -- an invitation,” Dobbs replied. “We’re being invited over.”
The Captain’s mouth dropped. “Holy shit,” he said. “It’s finally happened.”
“Yes, sir.”
“What luck. And from Barnard’s, one of the closest stars to our solar system. If there’s life that close -- there may be extra-terrestrials all over this fucking universe.”
“Yes, sir. The planet is so small we didn’t notice it right away. But, sir -- there’s something else.”
“What’s that?”
Dobbs bit his lip and shook his head. “Sir, it’s a video transmission. This alien looks just like a damned choir boy.”
Reese felt nauseous.
He always did after these long sessions in suspended animation. Even as a kid, he hated the mornings, and now that he’d joined the Space Exploration League, his hard-muscled body had acquired a long list of complaints. Someday, technology just might allow for space travel faster than light speed; in the meantime, these damned suspended animation machines were the only way to go.
Reese’s eyes cracked open and he swallowed. “Oww.” His mouth was dry and his throat hurt. Much as he’d love someday to have a bed companion, he was grateful that nobody was there to judge him this morning for what must be mother of all morning-mouths. He blinked his eyes and licked his cracked lips.
“Good morning,” the female computer voice purred. “We hope you had pleasant dreams. You have almost completed your journey. Two hours until rendezvous with life form.”
Reese’s brain ignited, and it wasn’t just from the adrenaline being shot into his veins by the machinery. Two hours! He pulled the needles from his arms, pressed the buttons and released himself from his sleep capsule.
Experience had taught him to wake his body up slowly -- nobody would want his giant leap for mankind to begin with a crumple to the floor. Reese sat on the edge of the bed, stretched his limbs and began to once again breathe on his own.
Through his fading nausea, he looked down and smiled grimly at the hard-on between his legs. Well, at least that part of him was in a good mood. What a joke his personal life was! Although his physique would have inspired any hot-blooded female to salivate, these long business trips rendered obsolete any monogamous personal life. Most of his sex was from masturbation. His was a lonely existence, Reese acknowledged -- married to his job. At least he was well paid.
Slowly, Reese stood and took his first, hesitant steps. A belch escaped his lips. He groaned with disgust at himself, then shuffled quietly to the small sink and gazed at his tongue in the mirror. After mouthwash, a shave and a hot shower, Reese felt better.
His damned hard-on just wouldn’t go down. How could it, after so much time without shooting? He studied his large erection, watched it throb, then took a scissors and clipped his scrotum hair. How many quarts of sperm had built up in his balls? he wondered. Desperate times call for desperate measures, and as soon as he was reunited with the crew of the Magellan, he’d be seeking out female companionship.
He flipped a button on top of a second sleeping machine. “Wake up, buddy.”
“Ugh,” came the reply. A second set of sleepy eyes and strong arms began to stir.
Watching Allen’s stiff body go through the same unhappy morning motions as Reese’s made the module commander smile. He mixed a protein shake in a blender and fired up the shuttle’s monitor screen. One by one, all the ship’s external cameras flickered on.
Reese’s eyes wandered the hull, searching for problems. He sighed with relief -- there were the usual dents sustained from interplanetary rocks, but everything was intact, not the least of which being the powerful clip that attached Galileo to its mother ship, Magellan.
Reese gazed at the magnificent Magellan, as beautiful a vessel as any he’d seen. Maybe someday he would command such a craft. In the meantime, he’d pay his dues commandeering this, the Magellan’s little flagship.
“Galileo to mother ship Magellan. Galileo to Magellan, this is Captain Hunter calling. Please respond.” He repeated his message, but there was no reply. “They're still asleep,” he told Allen, who was still groaning and stretching. “Didn’t really expect them to answer.”
He took a swig of his morning shake and burped. “So, hop to it, fucker! Hit the shower!” he ordered. “We’ve got twenty-four hours to make contact before they wake up.”
“Yeah, yeah. I know, Captain. Ow, fuckin’ cramp in my leg.”
Allen rubbed his thigh, then nonchalantly ran his hand through his hairy chest as he stumbled nude to the shower. Reese had left hair in the sink -- was it whiskers? He stared at the hairs as he activated the hot water. He started up the shower and had started lathering his own face when he stopped short; the computer voice had come on. "Incoming video and audio feed," the sultry lady breathed.
A stranger’s words abruptly boomed over the interplanetary speaker: "I knew you would come!"
Reese nearly choked on his protein shake as his face spun around. “Dammit, computer! Minimize volume!” Instantly alert, he swiveled his chair toward the main video monitor and blurted out, “This is the Galileo! Who are you?!”
A young face shimmered into existence and smiled. It looked as though it belonged to an angel. “I am that which invited you.”
Allen’s shower was left running. His face covered with shaving cream, he returned to the control deck, wide-eyed and still nude as he stared open-mouthed at the screen.
“We come in peace,” Reese offered.
“I know.” The happy face gazed approvingly at Reese, then Allen, before searching for others. “Only two of you?” It seemed disappointed.
“There are more, on board our mother ship Magellan. We’re your greeting party. They will follow when they get word from us.”
“Good,” the face smiled. “Then come.” It closed its eyes, then opened them again. “I just now told your ship’s computer where to find me.” The image gave a friendly nod. “COME.” Bits of light shimmered around the face as it disappeared.
Reese looked to his companion. “It’s showtime, Allen. Ready to make history? After you clean up, we’ll disengage from the Magellan and meet our host.” He looked down at his boner; the excitement had caused his hard-on to drool with pre-cum.
“And for God’s sakes, let’s both put on some damned clothes.”
In the cold silence of space, the little cruiser slid out from under its mother’s belly with the same serenity as a fall leaf pricked off a tree by a gentle wind. Down to the small planet the Galileo sailed, over dead valleys, brown sand and jagged rocks.
“Carbon dioxide atmosphere, Reese,” Allen announced. “A little thin, but we’ll be able to breathe just fine.”
“Good.” Reese’s jaw was clenched. “I sure hope putting this ship on remote control was a good idea. It looks like we’re headed straight into that mountain.”
Sure enough, the craft seemed to be veering right into a wall of stone, but as it shuttled around a corner of the rocky range there was a narrow crack in the granite. The Galileo swooped onto its side and entered the cavern, its left wing barely missing a sharp, jagged rock formation. “Holy shit.” That close call made Reese’s heart skip a beat.
The Galileo made a perfect landing. They were in a very wide, dimly lit underground cavern at least five football fields long. It was a horizontal gash in the mountain, with more and more stones raking upward toward its ceiling the further into the cave one looked. Hundreds of yards away, something was glowing from a wide ledge near the top of the rocks. Nothing else caught their eyes, so their host obviously wanted them to walk toward the strange light. They would complete their journey on foot.
“Ready if you are,” Allen smiled.
Reese nodded. “Let’s go.”
They climbed out of their spacecraft and began their walk. The terrain was muddy and slippery, but navigable. As they ascended the rocks, the glow in the distance seemed to burn brighter.
“I can see why he didn’t want us to land deeper in the cave,” Reese remarked. “Nothing solid anywhere.” The steeper the journey became, the more grateful he was that they were strong, athletic men.
As they approached the end, Reese noticed something peculiar. He looked to Allen, who hadn’t caught wind of it yet. Then Allen made a face. “Pee-YEW!” he cried. “Shit, the further we get into this place, the more it smells like someone’s garbage.”
“Good, it’s not just me, then. I was beginning to think you forgot your deodorant.”
“Fuck, I hope this doesn’t get worse,” Allen grunted. “I might have to take back what I said about being able to breathe the air.” They both shook their heads and looked ahead toward the glow. They were beginning to make out traces of the being awaiting them.
They were quite winded when they finally arrived, and although the stench was nauseating, they weren’t disappointed by what they saw. Sitting in an oversized chair with a column of shimmering light shining down on him was X. He appeared to be nothing but a child, angelic and innocent-looking -- so beautiful that back home he could have easily been cast in a religious film epic. He looked at them sweetly with his doe-like eyes.
“I am Reese Hunter of the Galileo,” Reese announced. “and this is my co-pilot, Allen Cook. You’re the first being outside of our planet we’ve ever met. We bring you greetings.”
“A voice.” X replied. “Good. I've needed to hear how you sound in person.”
“I’m sorry, I didn’t follow that.”
“I bid you welcome, Reese Hunter. I have a present for you and your friend.”
X tossed them a piece of red fruit which appeared to be an apple. “Tell me what you think of it. Eat.”
Reese looked to Allen, who shrugged. “Maybe this is his version of Indian Chief having us smokum peace pipe,” Allen whispered.
“If that’s the case, we won’t insult him,” Reese muttered back. He bit into it. It crunched like an apple, but tasted -- awful, like wax. He made a face. “It has no taste.”
"I’m not surprised. I’ve only been able to see your world, not know it. There are limits to what I can do here.”
Reese put the apple down. “I’m sorry,” he said. “I appreciate your effort to make us feel welcome. I apologize that we didn’t bring you anything.”
“Oh, but you have,” X replied. “You brought yourselves. I want to know you.”
“And we want to know you, too.”
X reacted with disgust. “You were not brought here to know me. You are here solely so that I might know you.”
Reese was perplexed, wondering if he should feel insulted. “Excuse me?”
“It’s not that difficult. I’ll explain it to you in your street language with words so simple-minded even you will get it.” X stood up in his chair. His eyes began to glow red. A deep, bass voice that sounded just like Reese’s boomed out of his mouth as it turned upward into a wicked smile. “You’re SCREWED, MOTHER FUCKERS!!”
As the color of the men’s faces went white, X let out a shrill scream. He shot up from the chair, spun himself into a blur, snapped into a streak of black light, ricocheted off the cavern walls and boomeranged at them off the ceiling. All Reese could see now was a snake-like creature flying straight toward them, whipping its tail with its jaws wide open.
“Allen!” he yelled. “WEAPONS!”
It was too late. In the blink of an eye, X had chomped painful wounds into both of their necks through which he’d injected his paralyzing venom. From the site of the wound downward, every muscle in their bodies clenched up and stopped working. They were helpless.
Reese could only move his head. He gritted his teeth. “Some kind of...shape shifter...chameleon. Tricked us…”
“Bastard!” Allen seethed through his clenched mouth as he fell to the smelly cave floor.
Reese knew he had to stay in control. He managed to keep standing, but he was like a stone statue, frozen in place. As the alien danced around them, Reese studied its snake-like appearance. It had become at least sixteen feet long and had openings at both ends. Both the head and the tail looked like...well, there was no other way to put it; he appeared to be a super-large, double-headed dildo, with only a mouth and eyes on one end signifying where the head was.
Sixteen feet of snake hissed at them, swaying back and forth, cautiously making sure both men had been rendered harmless. It closed its red eye slits and opened them -- and in doing so, their uniforms melted away.
Both men were naked as the day they were born. “DAMMIT!” Reese swore. Scared shitless or not, he still had the huge hard-on he’d not been able to coax down all day.
X slithered over to Allen’s body, quietly weaving in and out of the armpits, getting to understand his prize, touching, sniffing -- and searching. Sliding over Allen’s cock, under his balls and into his crack, X finally found what he was looking for.
The astronaut sensed that he was in trouble. “Reese?” he gasped. His commander could only watch helplessly through clenched teeth.
“I know what you humans like,” X said. His ‘tail’ started whipping the air, then nudged itself against the opening of Allen’s muscled anus.
“REESE?!” Allen yelled.
The tail applied a constant, agonizing pressure. It was beginning to hurt like hell. The python’s red eyes gleamed as its thick tail wriggled insistently at Allen’s anal opening. Allen screamed when it broke through his sphincter. “AWGHHHH!” His head thrashed left and right. He was seeing stars. His ass felt like it was being split in two.
“Humans like this,” X said as he pushed his tail further up Allen’s ass, then started a back-and-forth motion. Allen cried out in agony and humiliation, but his cock reacted. Reese could do nothing but watch.
Allen’s body began to sweat buckets. He was hyperventilating. In spite of himself, his cock pulsed higher and higher into the air and his cockhead became shiny. Finally, his dick had had enough, and when it shot its first large spurt, his ass loosened up enough that several more inches of X’s snake burrowed deeper inside him. Jet after jet of cum fluid squirted high in the air.
His dick may have shot the hugest load of his life, but the look on his face left no doubt that he was in a living hell.
X saw the splattering of semen all over the cavern floor and smiled. “Yes. I thought you might enjoy that.” He pulled his tail out of Allen’s ass with a nasty yank. Now it was X’s head that was moving toward the loosened asslips. X wanted to explore Allen’s cave the same way his guests’ spaceship had explored his.
Now Allen was really scared. The python’s head plunged through the loosened opening and wriggled in several inches. “Reese! REESE!” Allen cried.
Deep inside Allen’s rectum, X found what he was looking for -- an opening, one which he knew must lead to the lower intestine. “OW!! Oh, FUCKING CHRIST!” Allen cried. “It hurts, Reese, it HURTS!” X slithered up into the next chamber of Allen’s guts, then started to circle silently upward, following the intestinal maze, making its way up into the small intestine and adjusting himself, narrowing his mass as he did so.
“Oh, God, I’ve got such a fuckin’ stomach ache! I’m gonna PUKE!” Allen cried. He wretched, but nothing came out.
X had nodes along his snake skin, so the constant friction against Allen’s prostate made his cock prepare for another orgasm. It wasn’t that he liked any of it, but a new dribble of pre-cum slid from his still-bloated erection.
Up into his stomach the alien slid, then into his throat. This was too much. “Oh, fuck, Reese!” Allen cried, terrified as he felt his neck expand. “Oh, SHI…”
Just as Allen came a second time, his mouth got very big. He stared cross-eyed down at the huge snake head as it made its way out of his face hole. Tears streamed out of his blood-shot eyes and down his cheeks. Several feet of slimy thick tube poured out of his face and slithered over to Reese’s ass.
Reese was glistening with perspiration as X slid alongside his hairy thighs. ‘Fuck, no,’ he thought. X found Reese’s butt hole, too, and again wouldn’t take no for an answer. The commander belched out an angry, violent grunt when he realized his ass had been violated. To his dismay and humiliation, his cock likewise throbbed and pulsed; many inches of thick alien snake were creating friction as it applied the same pressure to his prostate as Allen’s.
Both men were being violated, raped. It took between ten and twelve inches of python to coax out of Reese’s sex machinery many years of unreleased semen. His cock bounced excitedly left and right in front of him, shooting cum up, down, and side to side. It was the most painful orgasm he’d ever experienced, one that made him go nearly mad with discomfort. He was still shooting as X slithered upward into his stomach. Fucking Christ, this was NOT how he’d intended to cum.
As X worked his way up into his neck, Reese realized that his air was being cut off. He saw that Allen’s face had turned blue. Soon, the tube was coming out of his own mouth, and he gagged with disgust as he stared at the strange monstrosity in front of him. It had strange, slimy skin. What a bizarre death by suffocation this might be.
With both male bodies literally on a string, X could now do anything he wanted with the men -- make them Raggedy-Andy dolls, puppets. He flew into the air, causing the bodies to collide in the middle like pearls on a necklace. Allen’s mouth and nose were suddenly smashed hard against Reese’s asshole. He couldn’t quite smell Reese’s scent, with that thick hose blocking off his nasal passages, but he could feel his nose clamped into the hard butt muscle.
Clenching his own tail with his teeth, X became a perfect circle. He spun in the air like a hoola hoop, and soon Reese’s face had been coaxed down tightly into Allen’s asscheeks, too. Reese felt Allen’s tender asshole flesh against his lips, but he was repulsed by the oily snake coming out his mouth and embedding itself into Allen's anus. The snake tasted like a thick slug on his tongue, the back of his jaw ached, and from what he could see, Allen’s asshole seemed to be splitting at the seams. His own asshole was hurting like hell, so he imagined it probably looked much the same.
“Mfffphhh! MmmfpHHH!” Both men let out muffled, frustrated cries.
X wrapped himself around their torsos and squeezed even tighter, forcing the last of the air out of their lungs. They could do nothing but stare blurry-eyed into each other’s rectums, their teeth bending backwards, both men bewildered as they started to pass out.
Just as Reese felt himself going under, he felt Allen’s body starting to heave. A moment later, his own torso went into a heavy upchucking motion. He sensed X wriggling upward through him. He literally threw up the monster as X’s tail exited his face, unraveling Reese’s internal plumbing in the bargain. “GLAWGH!” he cried out as the last of the tail zipped out of his mouth. Both men went tumbling down onto the cave floor.
He was dry heaving; he’d never felt more nauseous in his life. Bruised but otherwise intact, his throat and inner body fought to compose themselves. Reese knew he might need a visit to the Magellan’s sick bay after this one. Bewildered, he looked over to the near-dead Allen and saw that he, too, was coughing his lungs out.
X again took on the look of an angel. He smiled triumphantly from his chair. They were both still paralyzed, but thank God, at least their lives had been spared.
“Are you okay, Reese?” His friend sounded weary and exhausted, but it was good hearing Allen’s familiar voice.
Reese was able to barely look over at his comrade. “I don't know,” he replied honestly. He tried to face their host but couldn’t. “Are you through having fun?” he called to X angrily.
“My, what a temper,” X replied, smiling. “That was nothing. The real treat is yet to come.”
“THAT?! Nothing?”
X stood up from his chair and shrugged. “I wanted to explore your bodies. I was just taking a peek, going through the buffet line. And I’ve always enjoyed playing with my food.”
Both astronauts’ hearts sank. “Buffet...?”
X looked over to Allen. “Yes, and you both smelled mighty good,” he cried. “Time for my first course.” He leapt from his chair and was by Allen’s side in a flash of lightning.
“I want to know you, Allen Cook!” X said with an evil look directly into the man’s face. He zapped himself back into the snake and had burrowed himself up Allen’s ass before either astronaut could manage an intake of breath.
Both naked astronauts could hear crunching and sucking noises. Allen’s face turned white. He was being eaten from the inside out. His mouth dropped wide open and he stared at Reese in pure horror. “FUUUUCCCKKKKK!”
As X tore through his internal organs, Allen moaned incomprehensibly; there were no words in the English language that could suffice. He howled loud and long, like an animal mourning its last moment on earth. Allen’s screams were entangled with hopeless futility, his recognition that all his life’s dreams were being trashed in one fell swoop. If only he could get back to his weapon, or run back to the ship...
From inside his neck there was sudden, sickening snap! sound. His face went blank and his voice fell silent.
“Allen! Are you okay?!” Reese knew he couldn't be, but what else could he say?
A very strange thing happened, as eerie a moment as Reese had ever witnessed. Allen’s head seemed to nod; then it nodded a second time more earnestly. The third nod turned the head on its side with so violent a downward tug that the skull actually plunged down into the torso through a fresh, oozing crater on top of Allen’s shoulders. Torrents of blood poured out of the thick wound. Inside the chest cavity, X squeezed the head so hard the skull snapped in on itself. Allen’s broken chest was alive with loud crunching sounds.
With jerking motions, first one leg and then another were pulled up into Allen’s torso. His body was changing, his mass becoming smaller and smaller, as the slithering shape inside him became more pronounced. Finally, the last vestiges of the astronaut were sucked into the creature.
X returned to his “choir boy” image. He sure didn’t look innocent now -- naked, drenched in blood and surrounded by human scraps, he chewed contentedly on a final strip of tricep muscle. He burped and smiled. “Humans -- good.”
“Mother fucker!” Reese snarled. “This cave is a spider’s web, a dragon’s lair! You study your prey, discover what your victims want to see, then change your appearance so we think you're harmless!”
X wiped his mouth and shrugged. “All species have the right to survive. The end justifies the means.”
Reese muttered, “We wouldn't have done this to you.”
X looked at his visitor disdainfully. “Come, now, don’t be stupid. You earth people have elevated mass killing to a science, whether the creatures you eat be of land or sea. You even murder yourselves, by the thousands, for reasons far less practical.”
“You’re a con man, a cheap hustler!”
X shook his head. “I merely went fishing. You took the bait.” He stood up. “You have a tasty looking nose. I want to know your nose.” Reese whimpered as X held the sides of his face with his hands, opened his mouth, crunched down on the nose, ripping the entire appendage off.
“You have a very big cock, Reese Hunter,” X said as he chewed up the nose. “I want to know your cock.” He knelt, deep-throated the large organ and testicles right down to the pubes, then bit straight through everything with his razor-sharp teeth. Reese howled in agony. His cock fell into many pieces as a blood fountain spurted from his pelvis.
The creature started chewing apart Reese’s ass. Reese’s eyes rolled up as he felt himself coming apart. How many victims had X eaten? How many more of this species were in the galaxy? How could God have created such a monster?!
As Reese’s body went into death spasms, his brain hung on for dear life. He must survive! His God would not -- could not -- let him get killed! No God would let Reese die like this!
“I want to know your neck, Reese Hunter.” Right through Reese’s beard line, X’s jaws crunched down on his larynx. X opened up a nasty hole in the throat, then chewed apart the neck muscles before moving upward into the roof of Reese’s mouth. From there, X tore a convenient tunnel through which he could suck out and eat the brain. Quickly and efficiently, X hollowed out Reese’s entire skull. Then he crushed the head and started chowing down on the well-developed pecs and nipples. Soon X had devoured Reese completely.
X was more than willing to let these humans pass through him now that they were chopped up. After all, fair’s fair, and because he’d journeyed through the astronauts’ digestive systems, it was time now for them to tour X’s body.
Reese’s pieces made their way down X’s throat and into his stomach -- a hunk of hairy calf muscle, some brain fluid, shreds of cock, a torn sphincter -- all of his body parts were added to and mixed with the chunks of Allen. Bit by bit, X’s internal acids melted away their skin, softened up their muscles, and reduced their strong bones to a milky paste. Together, their bodies’ nutrional elements were combined with bile and liquified into a warm nourishment of grey, energizing sludge.
Deeper inside X’s body, Reese and Allen's less nutritious remains were converted to shit and defecated onto the cavern floor. Bound together, what little remained of the men was squeezed out of X’s body as a pile of ugly grey excrement. They became a smelly, steamy pie, just another foul odor added to the stench of their final resting place. Their aroma didn’t dissipate until their creamy texture had hardened to a brittle crust.
Back home, their disappearance was to remain a mystery. Officially listed as missing in action, there was no formal military funeral. Their deaths were to play out in the same solitude as their lives.
Would it have helped their pride to know that no two humans could possibly have held their own against X, that he could easily have taken on a regiment of two thousand? No matter; it was all water under the bridge.
In time, nobody remembered them. They were just like all idealistic young heroes throughout time whose stories were destined to end a half-century too soon. Failing to achieve greatness, Reese and Allen had no choice but to take their place among the swelling ranks of the forgotten dead.
Beforehand, however, and right on schedule, an attempt to communicate with the Magellan came from the planet. “We have an incoming video feed from the Galileo landing party,” the computer announced.
Captain Baker’s eyes were wide with excitement. “Put it on!” he ordered. “And send the signal throughout the ship!”
The monitor flickered to life. A familiar face smiled. “Magellan, this is Capt. Reese Hunter of the Galileo. I bring you greetings.”
“Reese!” the Captain cried. “Good to see you! How did it go? Are you okay?”
“Excellent, Captain. And I’m happy to tell you that this is a great day. For the first time in Earth’s history, we have established a first contact.”
Throughout the decks of the Magellan, the crew gasped and cheered; untold quadrillions of space exploration tax dollars had finally paid off. “Reese, what are they like? Can you show them to us?”
The image smiled. “You’ll have to see for yourselves, Captain,” it said. “I promise you, what we've found here will take your breath away. Come on down.”
“When can we come?! Now?”
“As soon as you can. Our new friend wants to know each and every one of you. Over and out.” The smiling image disappeared as quickly as it came.
There was a stunned silence, followed by loud back-slapping and laughter. The Captain excitedly punched a button and shouted into the intercom.
“Okay, everyone, you heard the man! We’ve got places to go, people to see! Let’s ROLL!”

-----------------------------
In the cold silence of space, the little cruiser slid out from under its mother’s belly with the same serenity as a fall leaf pricked off a tree by a gentle wind.
------------------------------
Beforehand, however, and right on schedule, an attempt to communicate with the Magellan came from the planet.
