when i die, i absolutely won't donate my body to the medical school. i shudder at the thought of being soaked in the formalin pool. i am always afraid of drowning. i cried "help,help" when my dad tried to wash my hair when i was a little boy. if someday i want to end my life, drowning myself would be the last last choice.

yes, i can. but only in 160 cm deep water so i am in no danger of drowning.

If you have ever been under water long enough, even without breathing in, the water starts to creep up the nose and down the throat - it can be quite scary. No one ever mentions the old method used at the Tower of London, where they tied a man at low tide and let the water wash in and cover him - can you imagine the last few inches as it advances over the mouth towards the nose?
