Claiming that a site is "free" and then locking out free users for weeks on end is like internet access providers saying "unlimited data" and then throttling your speed to the point where it's unusable. While technically true, it's practically not true.

I like CDG, the ideas, the content, the community, but based on this attempt to strongarm people into paying (and exorbitantly so as well, $15/a month for a message board? Really?) I won't be signing up any time soon.

Paid porn sites are cheaper and less underhanded in soliciting money. They tell you straight up, wanna see the good stuff? Pay us. They don't claim to be free and then only allow two days a month when non-paying members can post.

This site doesn't suck. If Meatpie changed his methods of getting money he would have more user-generated content and more paid users.

I agree, it's a better site that caters to a more niche audience, but my point was, they are at least honest about the fact that they want you to pay and they don't claim it's "free" and then lock out free users for weeks at a time.

It's your ship, captain, do with it what you will, but a lot of us, not just me, think that your claims that it's free and always will be should come with a big asterisk* and a disclaimer saying that you basically make the site unusable for free members until they subscribe.

I'm agree with Frost, and I think you are killing the growth of the forum by doing this... His comment wasn't stupid at all. What's stupid is the people that paid to subscribe this forum and I don't think there is many of them because the forum become a ghost forum when you are blocking accounts... You are the only one continuing to post to make it seem alive...

There are people that love and appreciate what we have built and what is even more amazing is that the good guys far outnumber little pathetic haters like you.

Personally attacking me isn't going to help, Meatpie. You have multiple people saying the same thing. The method you're using isn't going to encourage free users to subscribe and since our ability to post is not always available, earning elite membership without paying is a bit of a tough road.

What you have here is a message board. It's a good one, but it's not worth what you're asking, and the way you try to strongarm us into paying just pisses us off. What you're doing is hoping that people's desires for the material contained will compel them to pay whatever you ask. Some have, but many others won't, or perhaps can't afford it. In my case I just can't find $15 a month to pay for fap fodder. I'd do $5 a month okay, that's reasonable and affordable for me, and a fair price for a member-supported forum looking to grow.

But like I said, your ship, captain. You can call me all the names you want and ridicule me but it's not going to change the fact that you're not being entirely truthful when you say something is "free" and then make it so those of us who use the site for free can only get on a couple times a month. Don't shoot the messengers, man. I'm trying to be helpful here.
 
If CDG is "free and always will be", then how come every couple of months or so, I'm locked out of my account with a nag screen insisting that I get a paid account, offering "buy now" links to several levels of paid access?

Now, I'm not the kind of guy who hangs out here all the time, posting all the time, looking around for materials to post -- I'm pretty busy these days, and also need to be pretty discreet about where I visit and use my credit card on the Net -- but I do still enjoy coming here when I have a kinky itch to scratch and need to check out some photos of sleek hot dudes, freshly gunned down so I can pleasure myself, and I like to comment on photos that are really, really hot, and posting my favorite photos of myself for all you guys who love to imagine blowing a few holes in a sleek, smooth, tight dude like me, so it's not like I totally don't contribute.

Meatpie posting photos as a "tease" get users to pay for access to the Secret Room is a just a bit annoying, but I can live with that -- it gets guys who are curious enough to pay to check out the really nasty hot stuff -- but what really annoys the hell out of me is when he tells us the rest of the site is free, then locks us out at seemingly random moments for random amounts of time. That's really pretty underhanded.

I don't have a problem with Meatpie charging whatever he thinks the market will bear for access to the site. If he is asking too much (or not enough), that will be apparent soon enough...

That said, I must say I enjoyed the site more when my "free" access allowed me to read more. I was never one of those members who was constantly posting new, original content (wouldn't even know where to begin looking for that sort of thing), but I did try in my own way to add a bit of value (stories, photo album, etc.). I never expected any compensation other than my membership...

I will probably still check in periodically to see how much (if anything) I'm allowed to read on a given day, but I'm not going to become a paid member at the current rate...

I wish Meatpie and the site nothing but the best!
