I've not seen or listened to many operas all way thru, but have many pts to like. The first one I saw live was Motzart's "Magic Flute". 8-9th row center,by pure chance. Was totally amazing! Esp. a part where a female lead seemed to make her voice into, well, sound balls, popping them out w/ glorious strength and clarity. Being so close was mesmerizing. There was nothing that seemed old or stuffy. I'd recomend to everybody. Has anyone else been to performance?

I think Barbara Streisand is quite an over-rated singer.

That being said I do like musicals. Most of the music from "Phantom of the Opera" is quite good.
