In case anyone misses these on the Hanging thread, here is a thread devoted just to the slow public execution of a handsome 25-year-old killer in Iran, hanged by masked, combat-wearing executioners. They show the show the whole execution from empty gallows to body bag, including the moment of hanging. Some of the pictures are out of order.... but hey.

I think they merit their own thread..... Easy to bookmark for later.

Thank you Ropetrick. Good looking man. Great photostory of a hanging. Very exciting to see the progression of the event. Would like to have been at the morgue afterward. Appears to be very hairy. His neck did not seem to be broken. A perfect corpse.

He was a killer, Trachealover: murdered a student he was in love with. No, Pacific, his neck would not have been broken. Iranian short drop or suspension hangings are designed so the prisoner experiences a slow public death by strangulation. The thousands of people who watched – he was hanged in public at the scene of his crime – would have seen him struggling on the rope until he died. Yes, Serrth, he was quite heavy, and so he would have been in a lot of pain as he choked.

I like the green rope they used. It looks sophisticated. I think it would be terribly irritating to be hanged with one of those cheap, bristly ropes that itch. That rope makes the intended look like part of a tapestry.
