What I believe is that we are connected as human beings, and I am completely happy with living the best life on earth because it is the only chance I have the privilege to experience. Just because we don't have all the answers to the meaning or origins of life, doesn't leave me unfulfilled. Supernatural beliefs are invented by man to try and make sense of our existence by filling in the gaps on this lack of knowledge. The monotheistic god is one full of vengeance and violence created by Bronze Aged desert goatherders to control the masses and instill fear in their fellow man. Honestly I am saddened that you have taken refuge in these fantasies, but I can understand man's need to feel self-important and special, looked after by some imaginary sky-daddy. We have an innate need to feel love from a parental figure and that's all it is.
 
I am wondering if the answer is simply that somebody has "hacked" or "taken over" the users account?

Dear MXBoots:

You have made your choice and you have every right to so do. It is called free will. Nevertheless, none of what you say explains the heavens above us at night that twinkle and shine, the setting of the sun and the rising of the sun again, the mystery of tens of thousands of life forms that exist all around us every day.

For instance, the bird. Look how many varieties of birds there factually are, same with various kinds of roses, dogs, cats, rocks, trees, leaves and human-beings themselves.

Something HAD to create ALL of THIS that IS. Nothing can come from nothing, and there IS no other way to explain any of it other than there was a Creative Force that made it all come to pass.

I do not have all the answers, no one has. WE as human-beings have finite minds...and the finite cannot comprehend the infinite.

The Good Book says this is 1 Corinthians 13:12..

"For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then shall see in full. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known."

The "connectedness" you say we have as humans is because we have a common Creator, we have a Common Source. Call it a "sky daddy" if you will, the fact remains that Something had to come from Something.

This all was raised when MeatPie raised the topic under HOT DEBATES as to what happens when we die? IS that IT or is there Something Else?

Some believe THIS is IT. Others don't. WHEN ALL is SAID and DONE .. IF this LIFE is ALL that there was, tainted and marked by ALL that we see evidence here of every day, post after post after post, then does that bring YOU any HOPE, MXBoots?

DO YOU FIND HOPE and AFFIRMATION in what you see here at CDG? WHEN I open my eyes and see it for the reality IT is, I see nothing but PAIN and SUFFERING, DESPAIR and MISERY ... and I know as I have personally experienced that LIFE does NOT just consist of THIS BASE and VILE STUFF.

There are good things, too .. a sunrise, a sunset, a tulip in the summer, the song of a morning bird, a Rembrandt painting, a cool forest, fresh water, the blessings of friendship and family...the list goes on and on and on.

I have come to believe that IN THIS WORLD we have Dark Powers that deceive us and who want our very being. Ephesians 6:12 says ...

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers , against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

DEATH is of such Dark Powers, DEATH is from SATAN ... it is NOT from The Creator. But it does not have to be this way. For God wants us to have ETERNAL LIFE as so stated in John 3:16 ...

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."

 Indeed there is Another Way, "for the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23

I have been wrestling with this for a very long while and I really am not comfortable posting here anymore other than that which lifts UP rather than tears down.

SO WHY JUST NOT just GO ??

I truly believe that while some of you have a hard, cold dark heart ... others of yous STILL know The Light in your Hearts.

I have seen that Light again and it is my hope that YOU too, will find it and see it .. and get involved with a Church that affirms you and helps you to better see The Light of God through Jesus Christ.

For we who so believe are obligated to go forth and let others hear The Good News, too ... as seen in Matthew 28:16-20 ...

"Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

In the final analysis, MXBoots and the rest of yous .. the choice is UP to yous. But as for me, I have decided to follow Jesus, even if that means that NO ONE ELSE will follow. AND I am NOT TURNING BACK.

Paul, I've received similar emails direct from Larr/Arrowman so it's not a hack job! I think I can say this much, Larr was seriously injured just before Christmas and has been on heavy doses of painkillers since then, which is why he hasn't been posting at his regularlevel. This wasn't the only factor in his sudden change, but I can't help but feel was a contributing factor. Let's all wish him well, whatever way he decides to go and hope that he finds happiness.

Thanks plat for the info. Hope he recovers fully. I wish him well. Yes it really seemed odd for the "change" as he has commented on some posts I replied to by that member who only posts "prayers" on the Personal Ads subthread.
