There is a link to a series of public domain, documentary pictures of his execution – an international human rights violation – on the Hanging thread. The link is there for anyone that wants to see the images on an Iranian news site.

I didn't post the pictures on CDG because, in Western terms, he is probably only 17. Certainly Amnesty says he is 17, and he was certainly a minor when the crime was committed. He is 18 in Iranian terms, as they measure age for crimes in terms of 'religious maturity' according to a lunar calendar, which is how they justify the death penalty for such young guys in Western terms. Either way, he was way too young a guy for this and for comments about it.

This slight-looking young guy murdered Iran's strongest man – a muscle man – he says in self-defence. The poor young lad was hanged in public at dawn this morning, while two of his friends who were present at the time of the murder were flogged.

Very sad.

The Iranian 'lunar year' is 10 days shorter than a Western year, so if he is just 18 in Iranian terms, as they claim, then he is 180 days (6 months) younger in Western years, ie 17 and a half.

The dead man's political connections give the whole business a bad odor. The judicial process in Iran is so perverted it's very difficult to get reliable information about what's actually going on in these hangings.
