Maybe the cartels are recruiting headhunters from the Amazon? They make shrunken heads by skinning the skulls of their enemies just as those in the photos are. They sew the eye and mouth openings shut and fill them with hot sand which draws out all of the fat drives off the moisture causing them to shrink and harden. Then they smoke the heads over a fire to preserve them. Most of the ones on market these days are made from monkey heads. A genuine shrunken human head would be worth a lot on the black market.

Maybe the cartels are diversifying to reduce the risks of depending a single product line.

I have come to realise that 'cute' is very subjective - something that you find cute may be repulsive to others -- and some posts here may not be so cute but still be of interest
