Police have identified a body found on the shore in East Boston as 24-year-old David Mark who had been missing since Wednesday.

The body was found on the shoreline near 498 Meridian Street.

Mark left his family's home in Albany Wednesday to visit his sister who lives in Chestnut Hill, but according to his family he never made it there. His vehicle was located a 10 Middlesex Road, which is walking distant to his sister's home.

His family was able to determine one stop Mark made in Boston, Boston Beer Works, and a waitress there did confirm to Newton Police that she saw him there Wednesday and he appeared in good spirits.

In a statement, the family of David Mark thanked all who participated in the search for their loved one.

Cases like this are all too common esp New York area, I guess water is very cold this time of year for a swim?

Thanks for posting verlup, awesome how many young guys die in NYC area every day.

Do you know what morgue they take the bodies to?

I found out once but forgot. I'll have to check into it again but I don't know how I'd get in there.
