"The body of the Dutch Marine who passed away on the weekend in a car accident will be flown to Holland as soon as the autopsy is concluded. The man J.C.M. Hendrikse, b. November 20, 1987, was on Aruba for the normal nine-month training. He was the passenger in a car accident.
Another passenger is in a critical state and being treated for his injuries in the Intensive Care Unit at the hospital. Military police officers are coming for The Netherlands to lend their colleagues stationed on Aruba support with the investigation. Speeding was the main cause of the accident."
Second Marine in Aruba Dead:
A second Dutch marine succumbed tonight from the effects of a severe traffic accident which happened on Friday (local time)in Aruba. He died in the presence of his parents at the hospital in Orange City.
It is a 19-year-old Marine first class, according to information from the Ministry of Defence. A 24-year-old Marine died earlier from the same accident, while two other marines were wounded.
The Aruba Police Force investigating the accident along with the Royal Military Police because of the involvement of Dutch troops. The island has made a call forwitnesses to come forward.
