Awesome position. His helmet was taken off after the croak, to photograph their faces for us. Looks like dude bumped his head.

He is sleeping now.

JM please confirm. I say he died from head injury.

I WONDER IF SOMEONE PURPOSELY REMOVED HIS SHOE AND SOCK?????

THEY MAYBE WANTED TO CHECK HIS FEET OUT TOO.............

Yes, I would say in my professional opinion that this young specimen is indeed deceased due to aforementioned bump to the noggin.

The reason we take the shoe and sock off is to assess.....er.....length of the ...NAILS. Yeah, that's it. Due to mistaken notion that nails grow after death, it really is the only definite way to discern the time of death so soon after the time of death....yep....so...if the nails are the SAME length before and after, than we can know that death happened rather suddenly. BUT...if the nails have noticeably GROWN post-mortem, then we can see that death was earlier than the present time....or occured IN THE PAST! er...yeah.

JM please confirm. I say he died from head injury.

my guess would be a broken neck: note how angled his head is relative to his body. Also that bump to his head looks relatively minor....if his helmet was indeed only taken of after death i.e. it was on during the crash it would be unlikely that he sustained a fatal headinjury through the helmet if the crash was so low impact that he does otherwise have not much visible injury.
