GREAT pics KiltedSoldier......thanks

They probably wore kilts because they were so practical on the battlefield. :fast jerk:

Aye the kilt is comfortable, pratical and manly as our military uniform

these must be fairly rare, considering censorship during WW1-tho I doubt these were intended for general public. Good find.

Way so manly n' mega sexy.
:stroke:

The kilt was not practical and manly. During the first World War they were an absolute nightmare in winter. Prone to freezing, they got wet easily and abraded against ones' manly organs.

Eh 'orrible I said IS a practical and manly uniform - I don't have to wear it in a cold wet trench like my ancestors did. We Scots think it manly anyway - warriors have worn kilts for centuries.
WW1 was the last time lots of pics of slain Brit soldiers were published, until then it was common to show soldiers dead or being killed in battle scenes, was accepted as the soldier's lot in life I think WW1 changed that with the mass casualties and conscription - from then until now governments want to hide that soldiers are killed sometimes in large numbers in battle.
