OMG ARROW

The US must attack

What's this fucked up world cummin' 2

Syria is a big, big mess, Pie!!

YET the U S Congress and even The President want NOTHING to DO with Syria !! NOTHIN' at ALL.

BIG Presidential election year and Congressional election year is 2012, so all the politicians here are focused on getting elected and the rest of the world... "don't bother US with THAT right now!!"

So there are gonna be plenty more deaderRebDudes in
Syria, there sure is.

:this isnt happening:this isnt happening:this isnt happening

That means those poor dudes are doomed then.

Russia is selling weapons to Bashar that's why it won't support any action against him, what a fucked-up unfair world we live in.

NATO must attack and free Syria.

NOT going to happen, Pie. NATO is under the thumb of the USA, and the USA wants NO detractions from the
Big Elections here this year in November 2012.

Yes, Russa supports Bashar and so does Iran .. as power plays against the USA and NATO countries.

So these SyrianReb dudes are on their own, lots more CDGs to come, Pie. There just are.

:facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

That's awful.

Europe can do nothing as it's bankrupt and dying.

The BBC have managed to smuggle a team inside Homs, they have the best coverage of all the major news websites but this too doesn't change much as the shelling and killings continue unabated. Bashar must be assassinated and stark naked corpse displayed and dragged like Gaddafi.

:agreed: But I'm afraid you and Arrowman are both right about why it's not going to happen soon :unreal:.

Last I heard on the news was that the Russians are sending an envoy to talk to Bashar because they are being pressured by so many other countries. Russia is not an island on its own and knows that it's own fragile economy depends on doing business worldwide. It would look pretty bad for even Russia to do nothing while innocent civilians are being slaughtered with weapons they supplied to Bashar. It may be that the Russians are hoping to negotiate a cease fire that would enhance their standing in the world.

I think Bashar is a coward who will gladly kill everyone in the country including those loyal to him so he can stay in power. The United States needs to approach this as a member of NATO and stop taking on all of the responsibility and expense. While the population here does not support the massacre of innocents, they are tired of our government taking other countries' problems on and especially the indignation of those we help. NATO needs to do something.

Well, by US you mean Obama. Remember he didn't do much in Egypt and had to be dragged by NATO into supporting Libyan rebels. Egypt was an ally of the US, but Syria has always more or less been in the Russian camp along with Iran. So not easy to do even with good intentions, which I don't think Obama has. In the case of Egypt, it appears the Muslim Brotherhood are going to turn it into another Iran. We don't know what is going to happen in Libya yet? Frankly, I think it is high time to do something with Iran.

US is in dilemma - Republicans want deficit cutting and realize they have to cut military expenditures while Democrats don't like war so no matter which party in November, the US will go back to its isolationist roots.

I thought we couldn't afford to get involved so much with all these wars anymore and because of the backlash against us, isn't that what most Americans wanted? To get us out of other people's problems and fix our own? Now this civil war is worsening and NATO needs to get involved. NATO is NOT just the US and are not "under our thumb" other member countries can be pressured to help not just us, and they did help with Libya and Egypt.

There will never be a solution. Remove one despot for a more extreme one... Like what has happened to Iran, Libya and Egypt. The koran is a perfect vehicle to keep this cycle of madness going. Both opposing camps screaming "allahuakhbar" at all the mayhem seems ironic to say the least

Yes, I have reluctantly come to the conclusion that we Americans must not try to do nation building. All we can do is make people pay when they tread on us. Bomb and kill the enemy, then leave and say, don't make us come back. But first we have to get another president. Obama is either totally naive or on the radical Muslim side. His foreign policy makes absolutely no sense.

Don't be fooled, the crazy Repugnant party is out to pursue another christian soldier crusade, not to mention counter every progress that has been made in social justice and bring us back to the Dark Ages. Theocracy is theocracy, whether muslim or christian.

Must agree w/ mxb on this. Repugs will want another war thinking it will divert attention from their own screw ups, and inevitable gross failure w/ the economy should they win. Both parties have willfully give industrial production to China and S. Asia, while strengthening and favoring finance and investors, and telling the rest of us to "move up the(mythical) value/high tech " food chain. The truth is, is that we should do nothing untill we figure out how EVERYBODY can join fairly in economy. Opps.. sorry for ranting. Did I mention my anger at the armed services being filled w/ only working and what's left of middle class? Where are Romneys sons fighting? Bidon does have a son who was in Irac/Afg. How many Repugs have kids at war? And ,yes, my only son was in the army. Myself, I'm getting sick of these "Rich man's wars. Poor man's fight" conflicts. Thing would be dicussed much differently if ALL CLASSES had skin in the game.

More rant: I also agree that what's happening is terrible. We do look like wussies for not figuring some way not to help brave folk, fighting for live & limb & freedom. Look at the help US got when breaking away from England. But, that too was given more to piss the Brits off, than for French love of freedom fighters. The Mid-East is a Tar Baby I had hoped we could leave to it's own devices, but it seems were bound to stick an arm & leg into it.

Maybe, a more robust, back channel type of aid thru Turkey & Arab states could work if properly worked out. Sadly, this being an election year, I think Arrow correct in thinking that even a bit of back channel aid will probably go ungiven. Regardless, the people of the area need to do the work themselves. I'm sorry, but they, the people of the Mid-East have to be willing to go all the way, and prove to would be dictators that they won't put up w/ them.

We will most likely be blamed for all bad things that happen, given the Mid-easterners love of blaming others as well as deep love of conspirecy theories, as opposed to plain truths.
