Antonio Carlos de Sousa, 23, was killed and dismembered inside the Penitentiary of Serrotão, in Campina Grande. He was killed by a fellow convict, Leandro Ferreira de Araújo, 19 years.
Both he and Antonio Carlos were serving sentences for robbery and murder. The killing was in revenge because Antonio Carlos had carried out a robbery with a brother of Leander and ran off with all the stolen goods.
Antonio Carlos was cut into more than 17 pieces and placed in 13 bags. His head was cut into four parts. The victim's family were sent photos of the pieces of the body.
