Well, if anyone has wondered why I had gone silent this past week, it has been because I have been in the hospital. I was in a very dangerous condition called DKA (diabetic ketoacidosis). It can be a fatal condition for diabetics. What caused it remains a mystery, but I am feeling better now. I had an echocardiogram done as they think a heart malady my be a cause somehow. And I have a stress test coming soon to do further tests on my heart. I even got to record the echocardiogram. For us cardiphiles it is a real turn on to actually SEE your heart beating. Seeing that I doubt I can get my chest cracked open and see it pounding up close, it will have to suffice. lol

Death just can't seem to grab and keep me. So while I love to see his handy work, I tell him to fuck off once more. :Tongue 2:

DKA, damn man sounds pretty nasty what did you feel?

How are you feeling now?

Bindiboi, glad you made it oK!

Well, going in, just nausea, dizzynessm, weakness and chest pain. It got progressively worse. At one point I thought I was having a heart attack. My heart rate climbed to 138 and it wasn't just fast, but painfully hard as well. They said it was due to severe dehydration. They did the echo and ruled out pericarditus (inflammation of the sac around the heart). I always love getting an echocardiogram done. I might post the video if it is something people might want to see. It was when a moron of a doctor took me off my medication for my neuropathy without my knowledge that things got really painful. Imagine, walking on electrified razorblades that are on fire. That is as close to the pain as I can describe. I am good with pain, but it was too much. At one point I blacked out for a few minutes from the pain. After 6 hours of this hell, I was given morphine. Those 6 hours will haunt me for life.

Glad you're OK now m8

Hey Bindlboi, I'm so glad you are still in the fight, You have contributed a lot to this group, and to my value of living life as well as I can.

Thanks everyone. Good to be home.

 Neuropathic pain can be excruciating. And it took them 6 hours to find out you weren't faking?
I hope you have things under control again now.
Best wishes for your health.

And the same to Rick too.

No, the nurses could definitely tell I wasn't faking. It was that they couldn't get doctors OK for that long. I think they knew I wasn't faking as I was requesting to NOT get a narcotic. The main reason being they can make you nauseous and I was already having that anyway. They ended up giving me a powerful medication to counter the nausea before they gave me the morphine.
I have dealt with a lot of pain in my life, but neuropathy is by far the worst I have encountered. Those 6 hours made all pain I have ever had seem like a tickle.

I am sorry you had to go through all this.

You realize that had you died that night they would have taken you for autopsy and cracked your skull open.

Yup, especially because it was and is a big mystery. As I know from previous experience, with DKA you can be there alive, conscious, and talking one second and the next, dead. DKA can throw you electrolytes and potassium out of whack. That can lead to cardiovascular disturbances. I was already tachycardic. The whole time though, I was thinking, "I hope someone gets some pics and posts them here somewhere. And I hope they play around with my body. Hopefully he's cute!"

Whilst you were dying did you at some point think about me or the other guys here on CDG?
