The best course in my opinion, is to know what you are and what you want and go with it. Society tries to guilt people into conforming to expected norms which usually means not being turned on by corpses and not being married if you're homosexual. I think the world is getting a little more tolerant now (except in some middle eastern or african countries where they will hang you for being gay), so we may see legal marriage for same sex partners someday. We aren't likely to see open acceptance of loving a corpse though. Since this world is SO fucked up anyway, I think it's a GOOD thing not to be part of the mainstream. I don't want to be like anyone else on the inside, but it's practicle at the same time, to appear to be "normal" on the outside. When in Rome, do what the romans do. On the other hand, I have NO respect for gays who get married, have children and then 15 years later, after they have an established family to suddenly "realise" they're gay or want a sex change. Figure yourself out BEFORE you get to that point so you don't cause grief to innocent people and come off looking like a selfish prick. I'm pretty sure nobody on this board is going to do that kind of thing anyway, so since we accept what we like, why not live as fullfilling a life as you can and when you die leave a good looking corpse so we can all appreciate you later. On the children issue, it's another matter of choice, but I don't feel obligated by society to breed. There are pros and cons to it. What if Hitler's or G.W.Bush's parents never fucked? Sure the world would be a better place, but then you have the case of Mozart, probably our greatest genius in the arts. He was the 7th and final child his parents had. What if they had called it quits after 6? All the greatest people are someone's children and all the worst assholes are too. 90% of the world population will continue to breed like rabbits no matter what we do, so I guess let them have at it, and we can do what we want too. How many billions of Chinese now? I also doubt we will ever overpopluate this world. With starvation in the poor countries, wars, plagues and people offing themselves, nature balances it self out.
