St. Sebastian was "shot full of arrows like a human urchin", but according to legend survived that. However, he was clubbed to death later (you wanna be a martyr, you gotta die).

Images of him transfixed with numerous arrows have always abounded: it was a rare excuse to make strongly homoerotic paintings etc.

Classical ones are widely known, but in this thread I'll try to post a lot of relatively unfamiliar ones. Here's a first sample. Let me know which ones you like best.

Nice idea. Think I like the first one best.

Damn, pierced, do I have to choose just ONE? I love them all!

Sebastian in manips

These are manips I found on the net.

See also Higladius' thread here on CDG: "More St. Sebastian".

Also see my other pics in the same ImageBam album.

Did the arrows kill him after all?

Some VERY sexy Sebastians

St Sebastian images

I like the black and white one with the dark haired slim guy, from a film I think.
An arrow wound would produce almost no blood on the surface, because the tension of the skin would make a seal around the arrow?
I once saw a picture in an old National Geographic magazine which showed a death from spears, there was no visible blood.Spears in chest and leg.If I can find the image I will post it.

Please do!

Great series. Really like the guy tied to the tree with multiple low down hits

I've always been hot for the idea of being shot by a firing squad. Were that squad to be made of arrow shooting marksmen, although different from my original fantasy, would work for me as well!

Nice post with good pictures. Thank you for posting.

Who remembers a very fetching Tom Cruise on the cover of 'Radar' magazine all done in pink, as I recall?

Here is the aforementioned image of St. Thomas Cruise on the magazine cover. FYI he was showing a truly amazing treasure trail in recent 'Knight and Day' movie that I had noticed before.

Thanks Tex! Great addition!
