The normal UK vaccine this year includes swine flu - it's free for elderly, those with health problems etc, others can pay for it. Most healthy younger people don't get it (I don't). Almost all the UK deaths have been unvaccinated, and majority (not all) did have underlying health problems of one sort or another. So looks like the vaccine is working reasonably well - doesn't always stop you getting it, but makes it less serious if yiu do.
A friend of mine was pretty ill with it over Christmas - they put him on tamiflu, and it did work, he recovered quickly thank god.
