This youth was robbing shops - he robbed one too many when he tried it in a pharmacy where there was a cop with a gun. The cop took no chances and put a single bullet in his chest - the youth collapses on the floor - he was dead by the time medics got there.

This is an edited version - compiled and adjusted for the exclusive benefit of our CDG members - it includes a slo-mo replay and a zoomed slo-mo at the end

Great vid Jon!

Poor guy is still moving all the time, even obeying a command (I think) to open his jacket.
Do cops get away with this? The victim didn't carry arms and was shot dead without warning. Here in the Netherlands, he'd be tried for murder.

Pity there's no sound; strange the vid's in mirror image.

Hey PiercedChest - yes you are quire correct in all your observations - sadly - the original didn't have any sound. I spotted too late about the mirror image - It could have been corrected - but I had re-rendered it when I noticed it.

Also interesting about the shooting itself... when you look at the frame by frame timeline - the youth does obey a command to open his jacket - and I cannot see a gun anywhere -except in the policeman's hand - but again in the timeline the policeman does kick something away from beside the youths hand...so perhaps there is a weapon there that we cannot see. But the cop does not mess around with warnings - one bullet in the chest and its all over in a couple of seconds.

Great vid Jon!:great:

that's crazy...too bad the video wasn't longer so we could've seen the whole scenerio because based on the video it just looks like someone shooting the kid...was the officer undercover or off-duty? from the video it didn't seem as if the officer had an justification to shoot the youth...he didn't seem threatening at all...

My reading of the situation is that the youth has a gun in his mirror-left hand and may even have discharged a shot at the counter. As he falls wounded, he drops a gun which lands at his feet.

Verdict: Guilty Sentence: Death by shooting.

Thanks Jon, meticulous as ever.

I'm all for the 'victims get mangled in a justice system that seems to be designed only to help the criminals' correction movement,
but seeing this footage I'm appalled at the 'shoot first and ask questions later' kind of attitude.

I just hope you're right about maybe the robber did actually use something that could well be a firearm, to justify him being shot up like that,
but I couldn't see anything in the (selected!) images to support that.

So I have grave doubts about this incident, and I think the cop would be grilled VERY hard in my part of the European continent.

I have very little mercy for evidently evil home violators, dangerous shop muggers, rapists, child abusers etc,
and I know in the spur of the moment you can only act by instinct,
but I can't help feeling the line was crossed seriously here.
Of course I suspend any definite judgement until I've seen the complete footage.

I think this is worth a serious community discussion or poll: who thinks the cop's a hero, a villain, or an idiot?

black sheeps (poor animal) are stilll in police study, but i think we can not imagine a police life in brasil. When you read or hear the news about crime in brasil or when you see where the most pictures here at cdg are from, the violation and crime is so high and it is very dangerous to live in brasil, i can understand the policeman to fire before asking.

Sorry for my bad english , i hope you understand, what i want to say

Unfortunately law enforcement officers due to the nature of their work must always assume the worst of someone's intentions, and while they receive a lot of training in the use of deadly force the instinct for most is still to draw their weapon - and use it. If the youth made any quick movements - and he did spin around pretty fast - that could be interpreted as a threatening move. If I were the officer, and someone spun on me like that, I'd have probably done the same thing. Not saying it's right or wrong - it's just instinct + training + reality.

Either way, looks like the kid had nice feet :)

he must have had a very strong fit heart. It kept pumping a long time after the bullet pierced it

It would be good for young kids who want to commit a crime like this to see this video. It shows they are not invincible, that they too can be shot and killed, and that it is a painful way to die.

The guy in the green shirt acts like this thing happens all the time.

well great vid...to die with a bullet in heart..hot for me!
