I don't understand why to make autopsy, if it's known that he died because of hanging?

And how do you know that he was just hanged? Maybe he was poisened, beaten and mixer impaled through his butt before he was hanged?

Not the smartest from the can arent ya ?

I actually agree with you. It used to be it was to determine reason for death and sometimes, with family's permission, for study. But now it is done routinely when there is no need. A lot of it is just a fishing expedition. But, the state has to have reasons to justify having all those bureaucrats and facilities. Of course, that feeds on itself and there has to be more employees and facilities. And, of course, it leads to the belief that our bodies belong to the state and they can do what they want with them. It all leads to the death of liberalism and the rise of statism.

Always like seeing a guy's body while on the autopsy table.

There are good medical reasons for autopsies as well. He might have had an undetected tumor, for instance, or other health issues. Not only does that help the family ("Oh that explains his constant headaches all of a sudden"), and if a brain tumor, it might explain his depression since it could have affected his moods, leading to suicide.

Also, it's good for doctors to know -- did it look like he had plaque buildup in his veins? Perhaps high cholesteral, and he was at risk for a heart attack. It's all good information for medical science.
