Two young thugs beat up a 50-year-old homeless man and steal his bike

They probably wouldn't have been caught, except they posted videos of the beating on youtube. Via tabloid the Daily Mail Fortunately, local people set up a fund for the victim, who claims he's gonna sober up. A commenter on a thread in a local blog claimed to know the kid who beat the guy up:

i actually know this boy. He grew up in and out of foster care and in a very very broken home. his father also passed a week ago. Unfortunately he is a product of his environment & it is very sad to see him go down this bad path just as his parents did before him. I think he needs mental evaluation of some sort.
He is clearly Sociopathic.

Most commenters were unsympathetic, one going so far as to suggest that both kids ought to be executed.
