Two young brothers from Slovakia hang themselves on the same rope in Bulgaria

26-year-old Branislav Kolesar and his brother Marcel, 35 were found hanged on a tree in Bulgaria in the Rhodope Mountains on September 20, 2013.

Born in Slovakia, Branislav had a a successful business in Manhattan and was considered well-off by his friends.

Dudes came on a vacation to Bulgaria and went bikinig up the Rhodope mountains where they set up a tent.

Both young men were last seen in a small village nearby where they bought food and alcohol.

In early September they decided to commit suicide together and hanged themselves with the same rope on a tree.

A shepherd found their dead bodies which were already showing signs of decomposition.

Police were called at the scene and after taking pics the dead young guys were taken for autopsy to Smolyan.

Blood tests revealed both dudes were both heavily drunk when they died.

Joint suicide like that is new to me.
How long has it been around?
And I am suspecting these types of joint suicides has been on the rise the last few years?\
If so, why?

perhaps they were lovers as well as brothers.

its unusual for a person to committ suicide without a compelling reason.

a double suicide? there must've been an even more compelling reason.
