Aw, that's sad. He had his socks neatly rolled up and stashed in his dress shoes, ready for another day at the shop. And it looks like he had recently been given a fruit basket too! Some happy occasion, like a new apartment or a new pharmacy. Whatever the particulars, he was feeling just so positive about life...and then someone had to stick that knife balls-deep in his neck.

Before I even scrolled down, I was thinking, "Alex will no doubt notice the socks in the shoes!" My issue is white socks in black shoes. Just...... no.

Anyway, I'm fascinated by this set. First, he HAD to have seen that coming. Eyes are still open, and it was full-on in front of him.

Second, the angle indicates a downward stab, so the killer had a reach taller than the victim, with enough strength to sink that blade, as Alex says "balls deep" in the chest.

Third, the blood is not only dried and black, but cracked.... this guy has been there for a while....

Well, my middle name, which is what I normally go by (rather than my first name), is Mathieu. I've been called Matt, Matty, Mats, etc, depending on who is calling me. It's a pretty common name, so for a screenname, where I can't choose a name that's already been taken, I went with "Mattai" which is the Aramaic translation. I figured since it's basically an extinct language, it wouldn't be taken, so that's what I usually choose!
