Waterworld...naked corpses float as morgue workers frantically try to save equipment.

New York City's busy Bellevue morgue was badly flooded during hurricane Sandy on Nov 3, 2012.

Those (alive) present at the scene said corpses in the basement "drowned"

Morgue techs first tried lifting corpses on higher racks but cold water kept gushing in and drowned them all.

There were 44 frozen corpses in body bags which started decomposing badly on contact with water as their melting point increased.

The situation got so bad that a decision was taken to put the rotters in new dry bags and transfer them Queens and Brooklyn medical examiner offices.
