I reeeaaaaallllly need to go to more Brazilian football matches.
On June 30 in Maranhao in Brazil, referee Otavio da Silva, 20, (pictured above) red carded Josenir dos Santos Abreu, 30. When Abreu refused to leave the pitch, da Silva pulled out a knife and stabbed him. Abreu died on his way to the hospital. So his friends and family returned to the game. They tied up da Silva, beat him, stoned him, then hacked him into pieces, cut his head off, stuck it on a pike and planted it in the middle of the pitch while the crowd cheered. The only question I have is whether or not the teams finished the game under the watchful eye of their dead referee's head. Because THAT would have been FUCKING AWESOME!
Here's a pic of the head and body on the field and morgue workers trying to put da Silva back together. Not the greatest, but best I could do so far.
