26-year-old German serial killer who drinks blood sentenced to life in prison

A court in Germany today sentenced a vampire killer to life imprisonment for murdering two teenagers whose blood he drank and whose flesh he ate while they were still living.

Identified only as a petty thief called Jan O, 26, he admitted the murders of a girl called Nina, 14, outside the town of Bodenfeld in November last year. He killed her friend Tobias, 13, five days later at almost the same spot

Judge Ralf Günther also committed him to psychiatric treatment and ordered that he be subject to preventative detention - a rare move that means he can only ever be released if a panel of experts judge him sane - but in effect he will almost certainly die behind bars.

His murders shocked Germany. Günther described the crimes as 'excessively violent' and 'a just about unimaginable dimension of injustice.'

At his trial in the university city of Goettingen, prosecutor Jens Mueller told how Jens O. wanted to rape Nina - but instead 'vampiristic and cannibalistic tendencies' were triggered in him.
Before she was dead he chewed off parts of her face and drank her blood from a neck wound.

I didn't think only 2 was enough to define a 'serial killer' ! Probably was it because he ate what he killed, or just because they were 'young'! A handsome cannibal, non the less! Who wouldn't be lured by that!
