I've always thought public executions were the perfect choice for any man, proud with no humiliation and holding his neck high: be it the noose or firing squad. I always figured that by the time you;re taken to your execution you would already be resigned to it and at least act brave since behaving like a coward won't make it any easier. Remember in the movie "Devils Island" where the guy is dragged to the guillotine as if fighting it would have saved his head? Even the first time I saw it with a couple buds we popped boners and admitted it wouldn't be something we would fight!

They say by the time thye shave a guys head and leg for electrocution, he is already dead - in other words they say he has lost the fight in him to save his life. I can see still having fear that it might hurt or about what happens after (in a book on Sing Sing, they talk of removing the brain still hot).

Outstanding Top Hat on the Lead Executioner..... executions should be a formal occasion. Perhaps cocktails and finger sandwiches would be in order, as well.
