If you have browsed through the above links, you can tell that the interpretations of who is a infidel and a Kafir (unbeliever) and what to do with these people is very wide and varied.

The militants take the extreme options and kill everyone who isn't a believer and force those who believe to live by their erroneous interpretation.

The Kafir and Sharia laws were meant to keep the Islam faith spiritually clean and not for violence unless in self defence, somewhere along the long groups of these people took it too far one way.

Kafir and Sharia laws are not bad in themselves, other belief systems and religious systems have ideas and principles similar to Kafir and Sharia laws...
