A cagefighter killed himself with poison after misreading an innocent message sent to his girlfriend, a coroner heard.

Christopher Forkin, 23, of Waterfoot, Lancashire, swallowed a deadly amount of the substance after spotting the text on lover Paige Nuttall’s phone.

During a furious row with the 21-year old, he tipped over his sofa and was pulling doors off their hinges telling her: 'You are just like the rest of them.'

He was CREMATED!

Mr Chris Forkin, of Crabtree Avenue, Waterfoot, died on Saturday, March 31, aged 23.

He was a time served plasterer who worked at Woodhead’s Slaughter House in Colne.

He was also a keen boxer who enjoyed going to the gym.

Mr Forkin leaves his two children Declan, six and Dylan, one, and their mum Paula.

He also leaves his mum Janine, dad Steven, sisters Charlotte and Zoe, brothers Louis, Steven and Robbie, grandma and grandad Stephen and Jacqueline, grandad Joe, aunties and uncle, a cousin and one nephew and his girlfriend Paige.

A funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 11 with a small service at the Chapel of Rest at 11am, followed by cremation and service at Burnley Crematorium at noon.

Family flowers and donations to the Critical Care Unit in Blackburn.

Not much of a fighter to lose a death match with himself over a dumb text message. Go beat up a punching bag, but don't off yourself for anybody. I wonder if he had a death wish and nobody ever got the steam up to do it in a fight with witnesses. Shame he had to go alone
