"I love you, bro," Mark told his younger friend as he plunged in the knife.
"Mark did it once, stood up, holding me, did it again," the victim told police. "He was kneeling on me saying, 'Trust me,' holding the knife to my stomach…. There was blood coming out." Somehow or other, the boy added, he found himself dragged once again to his feet, then the knife plunged back in.
I just remembered this story from a few years back. It happened in Great Britian in 2003. A boy fell in love with an older attractive boy that was "out of his league" so he used an elaborate online relationship, inventing a number of characters, to convince the boy he loved to stab him to death while telling him he loved him. And if that sounds improbable so far, you ain't heard nothing yet. The boy survived, and this article from Vanity Fair magazine is based on interviews with him. It is a long and absolutely fascinating examination of an erotic death wish.
