The discoloration of his body would seem to be indicative of livor mortis. His blood stained uniform indicates some form of injury. The lack of blood on the ground suggests his body could have been moved (the loose pants look like they were pulled at the waist when dragging his body) or that external bleeding might not be the cause of death.
