Three kids killed by train while trying to take selfies with their phones in Russia

Two boys aged 13 and a girl aged 10 were killed by passing train. One girl was taken to hospital in critical condition.

Some of the kids were cut in two by the train.

Trains are not noiseless. It seems to me unless they were on a bridge that they could not get off the track (the picture does not look like it) they should have been able to get to safety. Was it an electric train? Was it a bullet train?
