'I can't stop killing' sticky

I'm finding the 'I can't top killing' sticky a real pain - comes u[p on top of every thread, forum, etc, have to scroll down to see the thrwad content. And I don't feel very comfortable about this - not something I want to see without the option.
Any way of turning it off?
