The Sunday afternoon four young men drowned, while three of them tried to rescue a fourth, in an incident in the Manoguayabo river at the place known as La Poza de Hato Nuevo, municipality of Los Alcarrizos.
Cristian de la Cruz, 26, and brothers Victor Gonzalez, 23, and Jordan Manuel Soto, 16, died trying to save the teenager Jorge Estevez, 12.
"Jorge had left his house to bathe with two other minors and was washed away from the spa, a time when other young people took to the water to rescue him," said Juan Carlos Mateo, Jordan's uncle Manuel and Victor and cousin Cristian de la Cruz.
