'Eating With Cannibals' on NatGeo

Unbelievable! They must have mentioned the word 'cannibalism' every 5 seconds during the hour just to get everyone used to hearing and using the word. Now i KNOW the goverment is getting the general public ready for the future!
Yet, get this - at the start of each segment, they showed the disclaimer ' this program contains scenes of Native nudity and my be 'offensive' to viewers' - oh great! cannibalism is now perfectly fine to talk about and even consider, but NUDITY - FUCK NO! HOW FUCKED UP CAN YOU POSSIBLY GET!!!
if they would have made a show about homosexuality and mentioned that word , or gay, a billion times in a hour, society woulldn't even think of it any more.
so cannibalism - OK. nudity and queers - that's a no no!!

They use the word "cannibal" and it's derivatives for shock value. They hit people with that word again and again to make them curious and want to watch the new show. They may show natives who have practiced it which usually means they eat a small amount of someone who died as a ritual. But, usually not for sustenance. There have been various National Geographic shows in the past about cannibalism and the new ones just try to sensationalize it but don't really have much more information to add. It is unlikely they would actually show the whole process because it would exceed public tolerance.

Nat Geo has made shows about homosexuality where they attempt to address different issues such as predisposition and life style. Long ago, they addressed it like it was some bazaar, rebellious choice. More recently, they have demonstrated a more enlightened approach. If you read the Nat Geo magazine, you will see that they push the edge with nude photographs they can't show on TV. In the nineteen forties, fifties and sixties, the magazine was kept behind the counter and sold to adults only like Cosmo. Nobody cares now. The warnings are more for building curiosity than protecting fragile minds.
