Brazilian boy beheaded by kite line

It seems this young fella got his head cut by a kite line with cerol, a mixture made from glass fiber (or similar substances) and glue, which is used to strengthen the string.

From what I read, this kind of accidents are pretty common in Brazil. Some people tend to fly kites near roads and highways, so when bikers pass by at high speed you get them sliced...

That is something I'd never heard about before, Rikky. How interesting AND HOW AWFUL. I wonder if the kite flyer is held criminally liable for this biker's death.

It was new for me, as well. It appears that there have been extensive -even nationwide- campaigns to raise awareness of the perils of using cerol in kyte flying. (I found quite a bunch of images related to this, maybe enough to start a thread on the topic. :whoaaah:)

Alas, there's no info available about the victim or whomsoever was responsible for his death. :frown: But the usage or owning of cerol being illegal in many instances, it's likely that the crime didn't remain unpunished.
