You're very welcome! Basically at this point in the film he's already killed a girl, and Alan Rickman is trying to "warn him off" his own daughter. I think...

He's drowning, not drowned, may be the best way of putting it - this is meant to be a warning to him. He's hardly acting at this point, though...
