Two explosions at a peace rally in the Turkish capital Ankara have killed at least 97 people and injured 126.

The blasts took place near the city's central train station as people gathered for a march organised by leftist groups.

Turkey's president condemned the attacks as "terrorist acts".

Government officials are investigating reports that a suicide bomber was behind at least one of the explosions.

Tragic. And why use the phrase suicide bomber when a far more appropriate one is terrorist

...and to think I have been planning a visit to Turkey. Hmm....time to rethink that one.

Well - a cdg tour?

I am amazed that these types of attacks have not yet begun to plague the U.S. homeland on a regular basis.

It may just be conspiracy theory but suggestions are emerging that this is one attack which should not be blamed on Isis but that her on extreme supporters of President erdogan. He is facing an election which he may lose to the secularists and an attacksuch as took place may help his law and order message. As I Said it may just be conspiracy theory but it is noticeable that the first comments of the government were to blame the Kurds as an alternative to Isis.

Definitely not ISIS. Nothing to gain and everything to lose. Turkey allows jihadists to enter Syria through their territory unfettered. ISIS is under pressure in Iraq. Doesn't make sense to open another front. As stated above, this was a peace rally. Look for the party that has the most to gain from this atrocity

New photos show scene of carnage with human body parts strewn about

Some people close to the suicide bomber had their guts blown out while heads remained relatively intact.

Feet and legs were torn off with socks still on them.

Brutal, absolutely brutal. Amazing, and quite chilling set...

Poor Turkey , always has to suffer.
